Happy Mother's Day to all the women who check into our family blog! Love to you all!
I feel this day is for all women, with or without children, for those who explore and nuture their creativity - giving birth to ideas and wonder and thinking and doing.
I love being a mom to my girls! They are incredible little people, tons o'fun, and fascinating!
Lindsey and Madelyn officially began "school" yesterday, and I will return to work on Monday. I thought I would be a puddle, but I have such confidence in the day care center, that I found that i wasn't as wrecked as i had anticipated. Madelyn slept most of the day, and Lindsey was a social butterfly. They had a great time!
When I dropped them off this morning, Madelyn was still sleeping. Lindsey opened her eyes, looked at Miss Chelsea, and performed a full body smile, which is a very goofy grin accompianied by flailing arms and legs...
Last night the effects of the day were apparent: Lindsey was exhausted and Madelyn was full of energy. To blow off some steam, Madelyn decided to learn how to roll over from back to front, and woke up screaming, lying on her face! [she's been going front to back for about a month now!] She was wiggling all night long and had to sleep on me to be still. Then Lindsey was lonely in the crib, so she came into the family bed too! Pig pile!!!!!What fun!!!
Mike had knee surgery on Tuesday 5/8/07, and all went very well. He is recovering at home and being a real trooper, as my attention is divided between the babes and himself. "Pain management" has been an issue, but we're starting to get on top of it now. He is determined to be walking before his girls do! Gram-Marci, Chris & Stacie, and Pad have all been great in helping out with bath time while Mike is laid up. Thank you thank you! Isabelle/NiaNia/Mike's mom, is coming on Saturday to help out for a bit, for which we are very grateful. With all the loving help, Mike will heal quicker and our lives are a bit saner (more sane?).
Again, Happy Mother's Day to you all!
Love Cheryl
